About DAI

Deaf Ambassadors of Idaho is an organization that was founded by Darcy Sinsley and Alan Wilding, along with Chelsea Paulson. The organization began as a way to promote leadership in Deaf/HH teenagers all over the state of Idaho. We also wanted an organization that would draw in participants for our Ambassador competition (similar to Miss Deaf Idaho in the past). We actively work to provide opportunities for Deaf teenagers all over Idaho to learn about self advocacy, leadership, networking, and our community.

We not only focus on camp, but provide opportunities for Deaf teenagers throughout the state to learn about various topics, develop leadership skills, and connect with other Deaf teenagers in the USA.  We teach our campers about community accountability, fundraising, and self-advocacy.

About DAI Camp

DAI summer camp is a weeklong summer leadership youth program. The only way to serve our young people is by providing adult mentors who share the same experiences of life as a Deaf, hard of hearing.

Communication is accessed 24/7 with all program staff. Our Camp  is staffed by community volunteers with various background skills and experiences in leadership, education, recreation, advocacy and social services.

DAI started July 2015 in Boise, Idaho.  5 campers.  Every summer our numbers grow and continue to grow.

To attend camp, you must be between the ages of 14-21.  If you are interested, please fill out our form:  Want to go to Camp.  You will be contacted to follow up.

COST?  FREE

We are currently working developing a new camp for ages 8 - 13.  This requires more volunteer staff.  Once we reach our goal, we will be able to offer more.  Be patient with us while we work out the "hiccups".
